Growing up in the Balkans during the post-communist era, Dimitri Monev’s path into music was inevitable. His journey began in 2004 with his first set of DJ equipment, soon becoming known for creating energy-driven dancefloor moments. After years of private parties and underground events, he quickly rose to prominence as one of Bulgaria’s leading new-generation electronic artists.

Influenced by deep, dark hip-hop beats, Dimitri began producing his own music around 2008. His third EP Casper on Berlin’s Waldliebe Familien gained strong support from industry icons like Richie Hawtin, Steve Lawler, and Fabrizio Maurizi. Since then, his releases have landed on respected labels such as Metroline Limited, ELARUM, Volupso, Coast2Coast, Retrospect, and many more, receiving regular play from top-tier DJs including Marco Carola, Luciano, Joseph Capriati, and Steve Bug.

In 2011, Dimitri co-founded Alboratory, a label reflecting his deep-tech and dub-inspired sound, followed by THE NXT GEN in 2013 — an event and vinyl platform supporting emerging talent worldwide. Over the years, he has shared the stage with leading names like SethTroxler, East End Dubs, Carlo Lio, Archie Hamilton, Barac, Mahony, Livio &Roby, Arapu, Oden & Fatzo, Mihai Pol, Cristi Cons, Varhat, Marko Nastic,Javier Carballo, Lumieux, Andrei Ciubuc, Francesca Lombardo, ChadAndrew, Seb Zito, Rossko, Julie Marghilano, Dan Farserelli, David Gtronic, Chklte, and many more.

Always evolving, Dimitri continues to push his sound forward — staying true to the underground spirit that defined his beginnings.
